With fewer of us sending full-sized Christmas cards these days, gift tags and small cards are the next best excuse for festive creativity. Here's a Christmas hack that requires a single rubber stamp to create a simple and stylish assortment of Christmas gift cards.

Make all your Christmas Gift tags with one Rubber Stamp

When my kids were little, I used to trot along to a rubber stamping group in Milford, where a bunch of women met for a few hours once a month to learn new techniques, buy supplies and enjoy seeing what other people were making. I recently discovered a similar vibe at the FYI Craft Show in Cambridge, where all sorts of clever people were gathered, running their own crafting businesses, and inspiring others to get creative. Needless to say, I bought a few bits and pieces, including a gorgeous, ornate rubber stamp by Chocolate Baroque - Big Bold Background Solid Snowflake. I stamped the design onto white and black card stock, using Gold Fusion inks (Dragonfruit and Kiwi), with deliberate imperfection, because I wanted to accentuate the antiquated aesthetic of the stamp pattern. I roughly applied a clear embossing powder to the inked white card, then used a heat gun to emboss, giving the surface an uneven gloss. The black card was left plain. It was then just a matter of cutting a few different shapes from the card - tiny parcels, stylised Christmas trees, baubles and tags - and decorating. Stamping offers a satisfying and effective way to produce a pile of coordinating Christmas gift tags in no time at all.
