Some things have the magic baked in, and cupcakes are one of those - super cute and instantly relatable, they come with the kind of appeal that makes them perfect for birthday cards, tea party invites or little thank you cards.

A piece of silver ribbon and a little pile of beads is all you need to make a simple cupcake card

A Sweet Starting Point

For me, the making process begins with the physical sorting and gathering of resources; pulling together colours, materials, and layers, to see how it all goes together. Felt and ribbon make fabulous little cupcakes; when you find a piece of ribbon that works perfectly, or a colour combination that pops, a sense of anticipation arises, and the creative process shifts into gear. This is where imagination takes over, where you're no longer thinking, but playing.

Delicious Details

Mimicking all the delicious details of a real cupcake on a small scale is very satisfying. Which felt comes closest to that sherbety, pink icing tone? Should the frosting look piped or puffy? Does the cupcake case look better shiny and flat, pleated or plain? A pretty embellishment or creative design choice is what makes each card -unique.

The simple combination of ribbon and felt works beautifully on little cupcake cards.
