Creativity as a pathway to self-expression
In a world filled with phones and screens, it becomes increasingly important to find balance, where our thinking minds can switch off for a while. I especially love card-making; for me, the quiet activity of making something by hand provides a peaceful space. The creative process offers a powerful and transformative pathway to self-expression, where we can share ideas, find joy, and build resilience to manage the ups and downs of modern life. Some people find this in making music or tending a garden, and it can equally be found in meditation or being in nature. Immersing yourself in any activity that brings you totally into the present moment, helps restore balance.
Why Quick Creative?
They say that if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. After studying Digital Media in 2007, website design became my side-hustle, alongside working, and raising a family. I've always been drawn to creative projects that are quick to complete, mostly because I'm impatient, but also because life is busy, so making and selling handmade cards was a good fit. The idea of curating content, and inspiring others through digital storytelling has been brewing for a while, and has taken form in the Quick Creative. For me, there is a continuous flow between pixel and paper, each reflecting and reshaping the other, stimulating more ideas and possibilities.
