Being immersed in a creative activity, in whatever form, elevates our energy, and cardmaking offers a quick and simple form of creative expression, which is why I love it! Like anything, it's the little touches that enhance the things we make and do, so even if you don't have time to make a card, you can elevate the envelope!

Coordinated card & envelope ideas
A beautifully crafted card deserves an equally beautiful container, and decorated envelopes bring everything together in a polished, boutique-style finish. Use your card design as the cue to create a bespoke ensemble, or just accentuate the envelope to deliver an upmarket stationery feel.
Smaller, compact patterns tend to look better as envelope linings, simply because you can see and appreciate more of the design within the confined space. Plain colours, and different textures are equally appealing if they enhance the whole look. Experiment with different papers you have at home. You can duplicate elements from the card design to use as a liner, or generate a pattern with AI, then print it out on different types of card or paper to use in both elements.
Repeat Patterns Use AI (Midjourney, DALL·E, Adobe Firefly) to generate patterned paper
Faded Backgrounds Turn a single motif into a soft, faded background print
Single Colours Use a single colour from your palette in shiny paper, vellum or even tissue
Soft florals Photograph fabric, then print to create matching liners for your fabric-inspired cards
Modern minimals Try paper with geometric lines, hand-drawn patterns, or simple shapes
Vintage feels Use tea-stained or genuinely aged papers, old book pages or botanical prints
Papers designed with AI can be printed on card & paper, to make beautiful boxed card sets in minutes.
